If HR is a whirlwind, Jen Schaefer is the voice that calms the storm. An amazing one woman show, Jen juggles corporate culture, hiring, benefits, policies, and payroll—and her paper-stacked desk is a direct reflection of her output. With DocuTAP since 2008, Jen has masterfully handled the company’s sky-rocketing employee growth and treats each new hire like a family member (you know, in the good way).
Jen holds a Bachelor’s degree in Family and Consumer Science and a Master’s in Administrative Studies. (i.e. she’s got it covered.) In fact, Jen is the one person that can answer pretty much any question about the company. When not trying to keep up with DocuTAP, Jen volunteers for her local church and Habitat for Humanity; she also is a member of the Young Professionals Network and the Society for Human Resource Management.
Jen’s bucket list includes going on an Alaskan cruise and returning to her heritage by visiting Norway someday. The mother of two children and a Lhasa Poo, Jen lives in Sioux Falls with her husband and family. Her super-secret skill is being able to drive a six-horse hitch team of Belgian draft horses. What Jen can’t live without? A stick of Burt’s Bees chap stick. Who DocuTAP can’t live without? Jen, absolutely.
